Our adventure ‘Classic Trail to Everest Base Camp trekking’ starts with an exciting overland drive to reach at Jiri a hill town (famously known as Switzerland of Nepal), from here heading further to our starting point of the trek at Shivalya village located at Ramechap area within the reach of Solu districts.
The walk leads past lovely villages of Bhandar-Kenja and Sete to reach Junbesi a large Sherpa village after crossing a scenic Lamjura pass of 3,530 m high and then slowly our walk approaches higher region of Khumbu above Nunthala and Kharikhola to Surkhe villages. On reaching higher Khumbu area on the mainstream trail to Everest base camp as the walk leads with stunning views of snow-capped peaks and through nice villages of Phakding-Monjo to reach famous and colorful Namche Bazaar, where you can enjoy the best of Namche with its super views of Everest-Lhotse and Amadablam with other chains of peaks. After a rest and acclimatization days at Namche heading towards beautiful Thyangboche with time to explore its interesting monastery surrounded within enchanting woodlands and high peaks with Mt. Everest.
Finally, our walk leads beyond tree lines to enter a barren and windswept country of an arctic zone at Everest base camp after walking past Pangboche, Dingboche and Lobuche, enjoy the moment at the base camp overlooking tumbling Khumbu Ice Falls and glaciers within the giant peaks of Nuptse, Lho-la, Lingtren-Pumor, and Everest. Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.
Your first impression of arriving at Tribhuvan International Airport is an experience in itself. But don’t be worried by the apparent confusion as your airport representative will be waiting to welcome you with your name written on a placard. Depending on traffic, you will be at your hotel within 20 minutes or so.
You have time to relax and enjoy the ambience and comfort of the hotel until your evening Group Meeting. This is when we collect your insurance details and discuss how the trip will run for the coming days. After the meeting, we go for our first group dinner. Your tour leader will take you to a traditional Nepali restaurant in Thamel.

Day 02: In Kathmandu with sightseeing tour at places of interest.
A free day in Kathmandu to relieve you from jetlag on long flights, our morning sightseeing tour starts after breakfast in the hotel, where you will be engrossed with tour around world heritage sites around Kathmandu visiting Old Durbar (palace) Square, and ancient stupa of Swayambhunath, after a tour head back to hotel with preparation for Classic Trail to Everest trekking next early morning.
(other options on the tour of Hindu Holy Temple of Pashupatinath dedicated to Lord Shiva and Bouddhanath large Buddhist Stupa the area is also known as Little Tibet)
Day 03: Drive to Shivalaya 1,770 m via Jiri town 1,900 - 08 hrs journey.
Jiri to Everest Base Camp Trekking starts with an early morning drive to Jiri and beyond to Shivalaya on reaching a lovely Chairkot town, drive leads downhill to Tama Kosi River and then on winding to reach Jiri town (known as the Switzerland of Nepal). After a short break in Jiri continues to drive further east on a rough road to Shivalaya village for overnight stop a nice village located on a valley by the river.
Day 04: Trek to Bhandar (Chyangma) 2,195 m - 05 hrs.
From Shivalaya first day walk starts into farm villages with short ups and downhill and through forested area, walk climbs over a small pass of Deurali, then downhill to Bhandar or Chyangma village for overnight stop, a nice valley with Buddhist monuments of Stupa here the villagers are a mixed tribe of people Newar-Magar-Chettries and Tamang, but predominately with Sherpa majority.
Day 05: Trek to Sete 2,575 m - 06 hrs.
Morning walk leads through farm terraces and villages heading downhill to reach Kenja village, a nice village situated beneath hills of Lamjura and Pikey danda with views of Numbur peaks, from Kenja, a steep climb to Sete village for the overnight stop, from here onward air gets much cooler with alpine temperatures.
Day 06: Trek to Junbesi 2,700 m via Lamjura-la 3,530 m -06 hrs.
Morning walk heading higher towards Lamjura-la pass with steep winding climb for sometimes within beautiful forest of tall rhododendron, pines, oak and fir trees past small scattered farm villages and terraces, then reaching on top of Lamjura pass with a big white Buddhist stupa and few lodges, here with a brief stop then on downhill through cool forest to reach at the base in Toc-Toc village. From this small farm, village walk is pleasant on the winding path to Jumbesi, a lovely and large Sherpa village with an interesting old monastery and a high school built by Sir Edmund Hillary Trust.
Day 07: Trek to Nunthala (Manidingma) 2,220 m - 07 hrs.
After an interesting time and overnight at Junbesi, morning walk leads up gradual winding path with first glimpse of Mt. Everest and other peaks of Khumbu and Everest area, after catching the mountain views walk downhill to a river, on crossing a bridge with short climb to reach at another nice village at Ringmo for possible lunch stops.
From Ringmo, heading higher on gradual uphill into forested areas of pines and rhododendron trees then reaching another pass at Takshindu hilltop of above 3,070 m high. At the top with few tea houses with Buddhist monuments of Mani Stupa and chortens offers views of Numbur (Dudh Kunda Himal), Kusum Kangguru, Thamersarkhu and Kantega peaks towards further North directions.
From Takshindu our journey continues to a long descend towards Nunthala via Takshindo village and its old monastery; walk continues downhill through cool shade of forest to reach Nunthala village, also named as Manidingma a large hill village with Rai and Sherpa communities.
Day 08: Trek to Bupsa Danda 2,250 m via Khari khola - 06 hrs.
From here temperature gets cooler getting closer to Khumbu / Everest area, morning walk with downhill to a bridge over Dudh Kosi River, crossing the river climb uphill to Jubing village, from here an hour uphill to Kharikhola, a large Sherpa and Magar village, after Khari-Khola towards high ridge of Bupsa hill, crossing river with steep climb for an hour to Bupsa for overnight stop, located on a ridge offering grand views of rolling hills and valleys.
Day 09: Trek to Surkhe 2,300 m - 06 hrs.
From Bupsa climb through forested area with much bird life of pheasant and magpie, walk carries on climbing above Kharte Dande at 3,880m leading higher above Dudh Kosi River, on reaching at Puiyan village for lunch, after Puiyan walk is moderate with view of Lukla town and the airstrip, the last leg of the walk descends to Surkhe village for overnight stop, Surkhe located just an hour below Lukla.
Day 10: Trek to Phakding 2,640 m - 05 hrs.
From Surkhe village to Phakding village as the walk leads towards mainstream trekking trail where it joins at Choplung before Phakding an hour downhill from Lukla, as the walk leads past Sherpa farm villages, a nice and pleasant walk with few short ups overlooking beautiful views along the walk to Phakding village located by Dudh Kosi a glacial River.
Day 11: Trek to Namche Bazaar 3,440 m - 07 hrs.
After a nice morning, walk continues crossing bridges over Dudh Kosi River passing several interesting villages of Toc-Toc, Bhenkar and Monjo arriving at Sagarmatha National Park entrance gate, from here on the river bed for few hours and after the last bridge a steep uphill to Namche Bazaar, at Namche with facilities of good restaurant, pubs, cyber café, post office, and banks.
Day 12: Rest day at Namche Bazaar for acclimatization and excursion.
A perfect place for the rest day for proper acclimatization before heading higher area, morning a short hike to Everest View Hotel or walk up on top a hill of Namche for views of Everest, Amadablam and adjoining peaks, visit the museum with wide information of the Khumbu areas.
Day 13: Trek to Thyangboche 3,867 m - 07 hrs.
From Namche on the gradual scenic path with downhill to Imjatse river at Phungi-Tenga for lunch, and then uphill through rhododendron, pines, firs tree forest with views of snowcapped peaks.
On reaching Thyangboche visit famous Buddhist monastery with the magnificent panorama of Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Kangtenga,Thamserkuu, Kwande, and majestic Amadablam.
An afternoon with time for a tour of the monastery, which was burnt by accidental fire in 1991 at present back into normal form, where you witness young monks and elderly priest and Lama on evening prayer.
Day 14: Trek to Dingboche 4,260 m - 06 hrs.
Morning downhill walk for few hours over Imjatse River, after the bridge walk on an open country where tree lines fade for few short junipers and dwarf rhododendron bushes, uphill for a while to reach at Pangboche village at 3,900 meters. Last permanent village before Dingboche and beyond, from here a slow climb to Somara for lunch and continue to walk with the climb to Dingboche village for an overnight stop, located in Imjatse valley with a panorama of mountains.
Day 15: Trek to Lobuche 4,930 m - 06 hrs.
After a great rest at Dingboche morning walk with steep climb for an hour commanding excellent views, and then on gentle trail to Thugla for lunch where Khumbu glacier melts into a raging river, here trail from Pheriche joins after a break a steep climb for an hour to Thulga pass, with stone memorials of unfortunate climbers who died climbing Mt. Everest, Lhotse and other high mountains. From here a nice pleasant walk brings to Lobuche for an overnight stop.
Day 16: Trek to Everest Base Camp 5364 m and return to Gorakshep 5,180 m - 08 hrs.
Today reach the highlight of this adventure at Everest Base Camp, walk for few hours with the short steep climb in between over glacier and moraine, reaching Gorakshep, beneath Mt. Pumori and Kalapathar.
The Walk continues towards Everest Base Camp, at base camp enjoy the view of notorious Khumbu Ice Fall and glaciers, after a grand time with experience of a lifetime adventure at base camp retrace the journey back to Goarkshep for the overnight halt.
Day 17: Hike to Kalapathar 5,545 m trek to Pheriche 4,240m - 08 hrs.
Early morning hike on top Kalapathar at 5,545 meters, highest point of this adventure with marvelous views of mountains including Mt. Everest at mere distance, after a great scenic moment descend to Gorakshep for breakfast and continue walk to Thugla, then downhill to Pheriche around windy valley with nice scenic walk to reach at Pheriche for overnight stop.
Pheriche with 10-15 nice lodges with a health post of HRA (Himalayan Rescue Association)
Day 18: Trek to Thyangboche - 05 hrs.
The return journey is much easier losing heights every hour, walking downhill with few short ups to Pangboche and then to the bridge with two 2 hours climb to Thyangboche for an overnight stop.
Day 19: Trek to Monjo 2,860m - 06 hrs.
After a great time descend to Imjatse River, with the steep climb for an hour to Sanasa, from here on the gradual path with short ups and downs to Namche Bazaar, a break here and then walk back to Dudh Kosi river valley and to Monjo for an overnight stop.
Day 20: Trek to Lukla - 05 hrs.
Morning walk reaching at Phakding from here retrace the journey back to Lukla with the last climb, on reaching Lukla celebrate last night dinner with fellow trekkers and staff.
Day 21: Fly back to Kathmandu and transfer to respective hotels.
From Lukla taking an early morning flight back to Kathmandu with views of mountains, at Kathmandu domestic airport our staff transfers you back to respective hotels with rest of the day free at leisure.
Day 22: International departure homeward bound.
Your last day in amazing Nepal in the land of Himalayan wonders, after wonderful experience and fond memories of Classic Trail to Everest Base Camp trekking, our staff transfer you to the airport as per your time for the international flight for your final departure towards homeward bound.

Experience & Fitness Required:
Trek to Everest Base Camp is not difficult or technical, where no previous trekking and outdoor experience required if you are a sports person or have done outdoor activities and physical fitness training it will be a great advantage and plus point.
On this trek to Everest Base Camp, one should be aware that you are walking into the world’s highest areas of Everest where maximum elevation rises above 5,364 meters at base camp.
With optional climb to high and scenic Kalapathar which is at 5,545 m offers you with a spectacular panorama of peaks with Everest at close distance, most of the walks within Everest and other parts of Himalaya involves lots of ups and downs. Somedays can be tiring and exhausting, but rewards you with scenic views with a glimpse of local colorful culture with refreshing stops in between and walking into nice lovely villages.
Around Everest mid hills where you will be walking through farmlands, well-tended terraces, where the route follows on the bank of a river crossing suspension bridges with a duration of minimum 4 hours, and a maximum of 6 hours walks on this wonderful Everest Base Camp Treks.

Passport & Visa Information:
Nepal Visa is easy to obtain; you may obtain from the Nepalese Embassy or Consulate or Mission offices in your home country if it’s not possible abroad one
can obtain on arrival at Kathmandu international airport as per your convenient. Where you need to have 2 passport size photographs, Visa fees in US cash & valid passport at least for 6 months validity from the starting of the trip.
SAARC countries and China do not need the visa when visiting Nepal, as per the rule and regulation and Indian nationals do not require the visa.
Transit visa is provided for foreign nationality for 3 days. Visa must be obtained for staying over an initial period of three days. Currently, foreign national can obtain a Nepalese visa from the following border.

Treks in Nepal and at Everest base camp takes you to the remote Himalayan region, it is very essential that you are accompanied with experienced and qualified guides or group leader for the safe and successful trip.
Awesome Nepal provides native trekking guide and staff who are trained and qualified for these type of trips. Our guides are fully trained and licensed from Nepal Government Tourism Department, certified by TAAN & Nepal Mountaineering Association.
All our Trekking and Climbing Guides are professional with decades of experience in this field of adventure. They are trained specially for specified and various trips, to cater the flexible requirement of our clients from different nationalities, this will assure you that your trip will be enjoyable and in safe hands of professional experts.
On every trip, will be one Trek leader and an assistance leader on each additional 2 peoples in the group on treks, this arrangement would ensure that even if any of our guide/ assistance guides gets sick or clients may get sick and need to be evacuated or staying behind from the walks, it wills still works smoothly and there would non-impact with our original trek plan.
Every two trekkers will have one Sherpa helper for carrying your trekking bags.
Meals and Accommodations:
While in Kathmandu, your accommodation is at a 2-star deluxe hotel or similar (if one has to upgrade please inform us) with all modern amenities to ensure your comfortable stay and while on the trek, your accommodation is at best local Lodge and Guest Houses where available. The Mountain local Lodges are clean and have comfortable beds. Our entire accommodation is on twin sharing basis unless required for single supplement accommodation at extra trip cost.
While in Kathmandu and at Pokhara or some any city in Nepal, based on bed and breakfast, while on the trek it will be on full board includes all 3 times meals (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner, with Tea- Coffee). We provide meals from the local Lodge on route trekking. Breakfast and dinner will be provided from the same tea- house/ guest house on overnights stops, where lunch will be on-route day walks.
Foods provided in the local lodges depends entirely on availability and season, you can have Nepalese meals (Dal Bhat), Tibetan fried bread, various types of soups, Momo’s (steamed dumplings), potatoes, kinds of pasta and even pizza! So, overall you have a different choice of foods on the trek.
Two best seasons for the trek to Everest Base Camp. As this trip is an adventurous walk, we suggest you join in at the right time of the year as far as possible.
Spring: - (March, April, and May) – Warm days with Rhododendron in flowering times includes clear views of mountains, pleasant Temperature, warmest weather of the year.
Autumn:- (Mid-September, October and November) - Excellent trails, clear blue skies, best visibility. Best Time to Trek
Winter Months: - (December, January, and February) also good, but it’s obviously colder. You have to be prepared for this. It is up to your plan for trek in the cold months.
Summer: - Monsoon, so rain and visibility can be a big issue (from Mid-June, July to August). We do not suggest you this time for the trek.
There is no way to prepare for altitude other than to spend time at the right altitude. Being in good physical condition will help ameliorate some of the exhaustion that people often feel, but it will not prevent altitude problems such as Acute Mountain Sickness. This itinerary is designed with a high degree of awareness of AMS (Acute Mountain Sickness) in mind and to ensure a comfortable and safe adventure trek in the Himalayas with much acclimatization days to cope with pre-caution for altitude sickness. Staying well hydrated and getting plenty of rest may help.
The maximum elevation of the trek will at Everest Base Camp at 5,364m above sea level. We will be walking from the mid-range at Lukla with 2,820 m and altitude range gradually with enough days for rest in each high altitude with overnight stops.
Travel Insurance & Vaccination:
On this trip, you must obtain personal travel insurance to join with us in all our Himalayan trips. You must obtain travel insurance which covers helicopter rescue and immediate evacuation, trip cancellation and medical expenses.
We suggested that you buy your insurance policy from your home country before joining with us, where it is difficult buying local travel insurance policy for foreigners in Nepal.
Vaccination is required to plan for your trip to Nepal but it is not a must to have the thing to come, but highly suggested. Your doctor will have the information on vaccination you would require to the country you will be traveling.
Hepatitis A, Japanese Encephalitis, Polio, Rabies, Tetanus, Typhoid and Malaria etc. are the recommended vaccination for traveling to Nepal.
Our porter is fully equipped and insured on each trip with us. As you know that we are very sincere and polite, while on trek thus we make sure that our porter are fully prepared for the trip. We are closely working with the International Porter Progress Association for the welfare and benefit for trekking porters.
