Travellers get entry to Bhutan via air through Paro International Airport. This is the only international airport of Bhutan. After you have landed in Paro about 2 hours of drive will take you to Thimpu. Explore the marketplace and city centre in the evening.

On the way to Punakha from Paro travellers will have to cross the highest highway pass of Bhutan the Chelela Pass. From the top of the pass, one can relish the view of Bhutan’s sacred and top mountain the Jumolhari. The panoramic view of mountains and green lush hills will definitely make your trip memorable.

Day 09: International departure
At Kathmandu Tribhuvan international airport received by Awesome Nepal Treks staff for transfer to respective hotels, after refreshment our guide will brief regarding hotel, Kathmandu and Bhutan Cultural Tour with welcome dinner in a nice typical Nepalese restaurant with culture programs.
After breakfast our city guide will take you on a full day tour around Kathmandu at places of interest, as Kathmandu valley is steeped in ancient history and culture, full of world heritage sites and monuments. Exploration day in Kathmandu and preparation for the upcoming trip to Bhutan
Upon arrival at Paro International Airport our Bhutan Representative will receive you. We will head to Thimpu which is about 1 hour and 45 minutes of drive. On the way you will be amazed to see the terraced farmlands and villages of Bhutan. After checking in at the hotel you are free to explore around the city center. We will take a walk in the Clock Tower Square and local markets as well.
After breakfast we will start our sightseeing tour of Thimpu. We will visit the Tashicho Dzong, Lakhang Monastery, National Memorial Chorten, Takin Wildlife Reserve and Folk as well as crafts museum. These places are unique and offer lots of information regarding Bhutan’s culture, traditions and architecture. In evening we will take a private vehicle to Punakha. The drive will be for about 2 hours. On the way, check out the various scenery of mountains, hills and villages.
On this day we will visit the various places like palace, Punakha Dzong Monastery, Chhimi Lakhang Monastery and surroundings. We can do short rafting at Mo Chhu River as well. For this you have to let us know before the trip. We will then head to Paro. On the way to Paro we will stop at the top of Chelela Pass for the picturesque view of mountains. This is the highest mountain pass with road in Bhutan.
This is the last day of tour in Bhutan. We will hike for about an hour from the foothill to the Tiger’s Nest Monastery. The monastery is spectacular and provides the awesome vista of landscape and green lush forests. Stroll around the marketplace of Paro in the evening
Morning depart hotel with short drive to Paro airport for flight back to Kathmandu or to other connecting flights like Delhi. If you're flying back to Kathmandu, you'll be received by our staffs and transferred to the hotel.
Your last day in amazing Nepal. As per international flight time, our staff will transfer you to international airport for your flight back home or to next port of call, after a great Bhutan Cultural trekking adventure with Awesome Nepal Treks.

My cousin and I traveled to Nepal in 2011 and completed the Everest Basecamp Trek with our guide Dil Thapa.

Trip Name: Short Poon Hill Trek
Booked this trek from the comfort at home in the UK. Communication with Dil was brilliant, his response to all my emails were quick and courteous. He tailored the trek around us, as a small group of 4 adults ranging in age from 29 to 69 (who was still recovering from an ACL op last May). His pace was brilliant for our group.
Dil arranged to meet us in our hotel in Kathmandu and talked us through the trek, bringing maps, holdalls and T-Shirts.
The trek was for 3 nights, 4 days staying in good, clean lodges. All was included except our drinks.
We experienced trekking in glorious sunshine up to Poon Hill. There was still snow on the ground and Dil provided the group with crampons, which made walking easier and safer.
Our trek started and ended in Pokhara. Dil and his team collected us from our hotel in Pokhara promptly at the time agreed.
Dil and the porters were brilliant, the porters were more than porters and made our trek even more enjoyable. We felt totally safe and Dil was an excellent guide. The scenery was spectacular.
