Introduction:   

 Everest Base Camp Trek - 15 days, provides you an opportunity to trek above its scenic high-altitude landscapes and terrain with an ever-present view of world giant peaks, where only a few of the world’s population gets this awesome experience. You will follow the steps of legends late mountaineers Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay Sherpa. As trek leads from foothills of Himalaya to reach high Mt. Everest Base Camp exploring and experiencing Sherpa hospitality, enriched with fascinating culture of Buddhism in the shade of mountain scenery. Standing beneath massive and towering mountains within remorseless fields of ice and glaciers with tumbling block of Khumbu Ice Falls.

Everest Base Camp Trek - 15 days begins from a Sherpa town at Lukla ‘Gateway to Everest’ as walk follows into the scenic green valley of Dudh Koshi River towards Namche Bazaar. Namche is a bustling trading hub filled with standard and classy lodges, bakeries, shops, well-stocked stores with internet cafes. Spending a day to get acclimatize before heading to higher areas of beautiful Thyangboche, Dingboche, Lobuche, Gorakshep and towards our highlight at Everest Base Camp. Includes climb to the scenic viewpoint at Kala Patthar above 5,550 m. Rewards you with a fabulous panorama of surrounding peaks with Everest at stone throw distance, and then back to Lukla for an exciting flight back to Kathmandu after an awesome experience on Everest Base Camp Trek.

Guideline Itinerary:

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel

Day 02: In Kathmandu with sightseeing tour at places of interest.

Day 03: Fly to Lukla 2,830 m & trek to Phakding 2,640 m - 04 hrs.

Day 04: Trek to Namche bazaar 3,440 m - 08 hrs.

Day 05: Acclimatization and exploration in Namche Bazaar.

Day 06: Trek to Thyangboche 3,867 m - 07 hrs.

Day 07: Trek to Dingboche 4,400 m - 06 hrs.

Day 08: Acclimatization in Dingboche.

Day 09: Trek to Lobuche 4,930 m - 05 hrs.

Day 10: Trek to Everest Base Camp 5,364 m and return to Gorakshep 5,180 m - 08 hrs.

Day 11: Hike Kala Patthar 5,545 m trek to Pheriche 4,240 m - 08 hrs.

Day 12: Trek to Namche Bazaar 3,440 m - 08 hrs.

Day 13: Trek to Lukla 2,860 m - 07 hrs

Day 14: Fly back to Kathmandu and transfer to respective hotels.

Day 15: International departure for homeward bound.

NOTE: During the trip, weather, local politics, transport or a multitude of other factors that are beyond our control can bring changes in the itinerary. It is, however, very unlikely that the itinerary would be substantially altered; if alterations are necessary, the leader will decide what is the best alternative, taking into consideration the best interests of the whole group. Where a change does occur, we do everything we can to minimize its effect, but we cannot be responsible for the results of changes or delays.

 

 

Day 01:  Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.
Your first impression of arriving at Tribhuvan International Airport is an experience in itself. But don’t be worried by the apparent confusion as your airport representative will be waiting to welcome you with your name written on a placard. Depending on traffic, you will be at your hotel within 20 minutes or so.
You have time to relax and enjoy the ambiance and comfort of the hotel until your evening Group Meeting. This is when we collect your insurance details and discuss how the trip will run for the coming days. After the meeting, we go for our first group dinner. Your tour leader will take you to traditional Nepali restaurant in Thamel.

Day 02:   In Kathmandu with sightseeing tour at places of interest.
A free day in Kathmandu to relieve you from jetlag on long flights, our morning sightseeing tour (optional) starts after breakfast in the hotel, where you will be engrossed with tour around world heritage sites around Kathmandu visiting Old Durbar (palace) Square, and ancient stupa of Swayambhunath, after the tour back to hotel and preparation for the trek.
Day 03:  Fly to Lukla 2,830 m & trek to Phakding 2,640 m - 04 hrs.
Mornings, flight to Lukla with views of mountain range including Mt. Everest, after 30 mins of great flight reaching at Lukla with its unique airstrip a gateway Sherpa town to Everest base camp and other adventure destination. From Lukla walk to Phakding village leading past Sherpa farm villages, a nice and pleasant walk with few short ups overlooking beautiful views along the walk to Phakding village located by Dudh Koshi, a glacial River.
Day 04:  Trek to Namche Bazaar 3,440 m - 08 hrs.
After breakfast, commence our trek to Namche Bazaar (3440 m.). The trail follows along the right bank of Dudh Koshi. Thamserku peaks stand majestically skyward on the opposite bank.
Then reach at Bengar, as the trail climbs from the riverbed on the left bank into the mountain, through a forest to Chumoa. Continue along the trail with many ups and downs; cross a stream, and pass by the tiny village Monjo. We then come to Sagarmatha National Park Service where a park entrance fee is to be deposited. We follow a short walk along the riverbed of this valley where the major river meets each other. Crossing over a high Hillary bridge, the trek begins with a steep ascent to Namche Bazar.
On the way, facing excellent views of Everest (8848m) and Lhotse (8516m) surrounded on three sides by mountain ranges, Namche Bazaar (3440m) a central hub of the area for food, trekking gears, and other necessary goods with overnight at Namche.
Day 05:  Acclimatization and exploration in Namche Bazaar.
Namche Bazaar at 3,440m high, spending another day allowing our bodies to become acclimatized to the lofty altitude. Where walking high and sleeping low is the best way to get acclimatize, best acclimatization hike for the day we recommend is to Everest view hotel. It is the perfect place for proper speed acclimatization before heading higher area, morning hike to Everest View Hotel which is about 3 hrs uphill walk, a great spot for the magnificent view of Mt Everest, Lhotse, Amadablam and adjoining peaks of the Khumbu Himalayan panorama.
On Saturdays, colorful Bazaar held once a week for trading and an intimate look at the locals’ marketplace. It is part of the larger Namche Bazaar, a shopping hub filled with all manner of trekking and mountaineering clothing and equipment.
Day 06:  Trek to Thyangboche 3,867 m - 07 hrs.
From Namche on the gradual scenic path with downhill to Imjatse river at Phunge Thanga for lunch, and then uphill through rhododendron, pines, firs tree forest with views of snowcapped peaks. On reaching Thyangboche visit famous Buddhist monastery with a magnificent panorama of Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Kangtenga, Thamserku, Kwande and majestic Amadablam. An afternoon with time for a tour of the monastery, which was burnt by accidental fire in 1991 at present back into normal form, where you witness young monks and elderly priest and Lama on evening prayer.
Day 07:  Trek to Dingboche 4,400 m - 06 hrs.
We descend through the forest to Debuche and a little further on we cross the rushing Imja Khola, whose valley we now follow. Climbing steadily the trail enters Pangboche, at 3,900m, the highest permanent settlement in this valley. Ascending the valley, we have lunch at Shomore, after which we leave the trees behind and cross a wooden bridge at the confluence of the Khumbu and Imja Khola. A short steep climb brings us to Dingboche, at 4,400m, a summer settlement where great peaks surround us.
Day 08:  Acclimatization in Dingboche.
This second scheduled for rest day assists to your fitness with oxygen intake before higher elevations, an enjoyable 3-4hr climb to Nangkartshang, North of Dingboche affords views of Makalu (8,463m) the fifth highest mountain with awesome views of Amadablam and the valley floor.
Day 09:  Trek to Lobuche 4,930 m - 06 hrs.
From Dingboche walk lead to a ridge marked with prayer flags and Stupas, then walking on nice gradual uphill facing marvelous scenery to reach a small place in Thugla where Khumbu glaciers melt into a torrential river.
A perfect place for rest and lunch stop, where afternoon walks leads to a steep climb at Thugla hill a place with many memorials of unfortunate climbers around peaks of Khumbu and Everest Walk continues for another few hours on nice gradual up to Lobuche for overnight stop, a place with several nice lodges with views of Nuptse and Lobuche peaks.
Day 10:  Trek to Everest Base Camp 5364 m and return to Gorakshep 5,180 m - 08 hrs.
Today a great walk towards our main highlight and final destinations to reach Everest Base Camp, as morning walk leads on the open wide valley with a slow climb to reach above Khumbu glaciers. Our walk past moraine dunes reaching Gorakshep, a place with few lodges on the junction of Everest base camp and Kala Patthar route.
Gorakshep used to be a base camp of Everest in the past 1950’s to late 1970’s before the route was made further 4-6 k.m to reach present base camp. From Gorakshep few hours walk over moraine and glacier to reach our ultimate destination at base camp with sweeping views of giant peaks of Nuptse-Lo la, Nuptse with notorious huge Khumbu Ice Falls and glaciers. In high mountaineering season, this place will be active with climbers and crews with many camps set on top of moraine and glaciers.
After a grand time then head back to Gorakshep for the highest overnight stop of the adventure with fantastic memories of the day walks to Everest base camp.
Day 11:   Hike to Kalapathar 5,550 m trek to Pheriche 4,240m - 08 hrs.
Early morning hike on top Kalapathar at 5,545 meters, highest point of this adventure with marvelous views of mountains including Mt. Everest at mere distance, after a great scenic moment descend to Gorakshep for breakfast and retrace our journey to Labuche then downhill to Thukla and continue around windy valley with nice scenic walk to reach at Pheriche for overnight stop.

Day 12:  Trek to Namche - 08 hrs.
The return journey is much easier losing heights every hour. Today we lose approximately 760 m in elevation. After a short climb to Pheriche pass, walk downhill with few tiny short ups to reach Pangboche and then descend to Imja River after crossing suspension bridge trek through the cool forested area to Debuche and then half an hour uphill to Tengboche. We descend through pine and Rhododendron forest t0 Phungki Thanga where we can spot mountains goats, pheasants and other wild animals and birds common to the area. After crossing the bridge over Imja Khola second time, the path eventually goes up to Sanasa (Khumbu Junction) from where we can enjoy views of Amadablam, Thamserku and Nuptse mountains then we walk on smooth trails made by Pasang Sherpa all way to Namche Bazaar. Overnight at Namche Bazaar.
Day 13:  Trek to Lukla - 07 hrs.
After breakfast, we trek toward the Hillary Suspension Bridge and then pass through several local villages. Our arrival in Lukla brings an evening in our last Tea House and, traditionally, a party with your trekking crew: you made it! Thanks to great teamwork and perseverance, you’ve accomplished a physical feat of which others only dream. This is your last night on the mountain, which can be bittersweet.
Day 14:   Fly back to Kathmandu and transfer to respective hotels.
From Lukla taking an early morning flight back to Kathmandu with views of mountains, at Kathmandu domestic airport our staff transfers you back to respective hotels with rest of the day free at leisure.
Day 15:   International departure homeward bound.
Your last day in amazing Nepal in the land of Himalayan wonders, after wonderful experience and fond memories of Everest Base Camp trekking, our staff transfer you to the airport as per your time for an international flight for your final departure towards homeward bound.

Experience & Fitness Required:
Trek to Everest Base Camp is not difficult or technical, where no previous trekking and outdoor experience required if you are a sports person or have done outdoor activities and physical fitness training it will be a great advantage and plus point.
On this trek to Everest Base Camp, one should be aware that you are walking into the world’s highest areas of Everest where maximum elevation rises above 5,364 meters at base camp.
With optional climb to high and scenic Kalapathar which is at 5,545 m offers you with a spectacular panorama of peaks with Everest at close distance, most of the walks within Everest and other parts of Himalaya involves lots of ups and downs. Somedays can be tiring and exhausting, but rewards you with scenic views with a glimpse of local colorful culture with refreshing stops in between and walking into nice lovely villages.
Around Everest mid hills where you will be walking through farmlands, well-tended terraces, where route follows on the bank of a river crossing suspension bridges with duration of minimum 4 hours, and a maximum of 6 hours walks on this wonderful Everest Base Camp Treks.

Where doctors can provide you with advice on disease and AMS (Acute Mountain Sickness) and the symptoms if it happens while on treks, for health and fitness, the participant must have a positive attitude and strong determination to enjoy and making the trip a great success.

Passport & Visa Information:
Nepal Visa is easy to obtain; you may obtain from the Nepalese Embassy or Consulate or Mission offices in your home country if it’s not possible abroad one
can obtain on arrival at Kathmandu international airport as per your convenient. Where you need to have 2 passport size photographs, Visa fees in US cash & valid passport at least for 6 months validity from the starting of the trip.

SAARC countries and China do not need the visa when visiting Nepal, as per the rule and regulation and Indian nationals do not require the visa.

Transit visa is provided for foreign nationality for 3 days. Visa must be obtained for staying over an initial period of three days. Currently, foreign national can obtain a Nepalese visa from the following border.

Treks in Nepal and at Everest base camp takes you to the remote Himalayan region, it is very essential that you are accompanied with experienced and qualified guides or group leader for the safe and successful trip.
Awesome Nepal provides native trekking guide and staff who are trained and qualified for these type of trips. Our guides are fully trained and licensed from Nepal Government Tourism Department, certified by TAAN & Nepal Mountaineering Association.
All our Trekking and Climbing Guides are professional with decades of experience in this fields of adventure. They are trained specially for specified and various trips, to cater the flexible requirement of our clients from different nationalities, this will assure you that your trip will be enjoyable and in safe hands of professional experts.

On every trip, will be one Trek leader and an assistance leader on each additional 2 peoples in the group on treks, this arrangement would ensure that even if any of our guide/ assistance guides gets sick or clients may get sick and need to be evacuated or staying behind from the walks, it wills still works smoothly and there would non-impact with our original trek plan.
Every two trekkers will have one Sherpa helper for carrying your trekking bags.

Meals and Accommodations:
While in Kathmandu, your accommodation is at 2-star deluxe hotel or similar (if one has to upgrade please inform us) with all modern amenities to ensure your comfortable stay and while on the trek, your accommodation is at best local Lodge and Guest Houses where available. The Mountain local Lodges are clean and have comfortable beds. Our entire accommodation is on twin sharing basis unless required for single supplement accommodation at extra trip cost.
While in Kathmandu and at Pokhara or some any city in Nepal, based on bed and breakfast, while on the trek it will be on full board includes all 3 times meals (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner, with Tea- Coffee). We provide meals from the local Lodge on route trekking. Breakfast and dinner will be provided from the same tea- house/ guest house on overnights stops, where lunch will be on-route day walks.

Foods provided in the local lodges depends entirely on availability and season, you can have Nepalese meals (Dal Bhat), Tibetan fried bread, various types of soups, Momo’s (steamed dumplings), potatoes, kinds of pasta and even pizza! So, overall you have a different choice of foods on the trek.

Trekking Seasons:
Two best seasons for the trek to Everest Base Camp. As this trip is an adventurous walk, we suggest you join in at the right time of the year as far as possible.

Spring: - (March, April, and May) – Warm days with Rhododendron in flowering times includes clear views of mountains, pleasant Temperature, warmest weather of the year.

Autumn:- (Mid-September, October and November) - Excellent trails, clear blue skies, best visibility. Best Time to Trek

Winter Months: - (December, January, and February) also good, but it’s obviously colder. You have to be prepared for this. It is up to your plan for trek in the cold months.

Summer: - Monsoon, so rain and visibility can be a big issue (from Mid-June, July to August). We do not suggest you this time for the trek.

Acclimatization:
There is no way to prepare for altitude other than to spend time at the right altitude. Being in good physical condition will help ameliorate some of the exhaustion that people often feel, but it will not prevent altitude problems such as Acute Mountain Sickness. This itinerary is designed with a high degree of awareness of AMS (Acute Mountain Sickness) in mind and to ensure a comfortable and safe adventure trek in the Himalayas with much acclimatization days to cope with pre-caution for altitude sickness. Staying well hydrated and getting plenty of rest may help.
The maximum elevation of the trek will at Everest Base Camp at 5,364m above sea level. We will be walking from the mid-range at Lukla with 2,820 m and altitude range gradually with enough days for rest in each high altitude with overnight stops.
Travel Insurance & Vaccination:
On this trip, you must obtain personal travel insurance to join with us in all our Himalayan trips. You must obtain travel insurance which covers helicopter rescue and immediate evacuation, trip cancellation and medical expenses.
We suggested that you buy your insurance policy from your home country before joining with us, where it is difficult buying local travel insurance policy for foreigners in Nepal.
Vaccination is required to plan for your trip to Nepal but it is not a must to have the thing to come, but highly suggested. Your doctor will have the information on vaccination you would require to the country you will be traveling.
Hepatitis A, Japanese Encephalitis, Polio, Rabies, Tetanus, Typhoid and Malaria etc. are the recommended vaccination for traveling to Nepal.
Caring Porter:
Our porter is fully equipped and insured on each trip with us. As you know that we are very sincere and polite, while on trek thus we make sure that our porter are fully prepared for the trip. We are closely working with the International Porter Progress Association for the welfare and benefit for trekking porters.
The maximum load carried by our porter minimum 20 to 25 KG maximum so be sure that your trekking bag is not more than the above figure.

The following are what we advise you obtain in the way of equipment and gear before trekking in Nepal, and are meant to keep you mobile and comfortable in a range of expected weather conditions. Trekking gear can be rented or purchased in Kathmandu at cheaper prices, remember Nepal is the home of Mount Everest, there is plenty of choice and our staff can assist you with the necessary arrangements. Except for your day pack, all luggage will be carried by porters. There is an allowance of 33lbs/15kg per person. Additional personal items not needed for the trekking portion of the trip can be checked in the hotel’s storage room for no extra cost.
