Introduction:

Everest Base Camp Trek provides you an opportunity to trek above its scenic high-altitude landscapes and terrain with ever present view of world giant peaks, where only few of the world’s population gets this awesome experience. You will following the steps of legends late mountaineers sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay Sherpa.

As trek leads from foothills of Himalaya to reach at high Mt. Everest Base Camp exploring and experiencing Sherpa hospitality, enriched with fascinating culture of Buddhism in the shade of mountain scenery. Standing beneath massive and towering mountains within remorseless fields of ice and glaciers with tumbling block of Khumbu Ice Falls.

Everest Base Camp adventure begins from a Sherpa town at Lukla ‘Gateway to Everest’ as walk follows into scenic green valley of Dudh Koshi River towards Namche Bazaar. Namche is a bustling trading hub filled with standard and classy lodges, bakeries, shops, well stocked stores with internet cafes. Spending a day to get acclimatize before heading to higher areas of beautiful Thyangboche, Dingboche, Lobuche and Gorakshep, and towards our highlight at Everest Base Camp. Includes climb to scenic view point at Kala Patthar above 5,545 m. Rewards you with fabulous panorama of surrounding peaks with Everest at stone throw distance, and then back to Lukla for exciting flight back to Kathmandu after an awesome experience on Everest Base Camp Trek.

Guideline Itinerary:

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel

Day 02: In Kathmandu with sightseeing tour at places of interest.

Day 03: Fly to Lukla 2,830 m & trek to Phakding 2,640m - 04 hrs.

Day 04: Trek to Namche bazaar 3,440m - 07 hrs.

Day 05: Rest day at Namche Bazaar for acclimatization and excursion.

Day 06: Trek to Thyangboche 3,867 m - 07 hrs.

Day 07: Trek to Dingboche 4,400m - 06 hrs.

Day 08: Rest day at Dingboche for acclimatization and excursion.

Day 09: Trek to Lobuche 4,930m - 05 hrs.

Day 10: Trek to Everest Base Camp 5,364 m and return to Gorakshep 5,180m - 08 hrs.

Day 11: Visit Kalapatthar 5,545 m trek to Pheriche 4,240m - 08 hrs.

Day 12: Trek to Namche Bazaar 3,440m - 08hrs.

Day 13: Trek to Lukla 2,860m - 07 hrs

Day 14: Fly back to Kathmandu and transfer to respective hotels.

Day 15: International departure for home ward bound.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

On reaching at Kathmandu Tribhuwan International Airport well received by our staff and then transfer to your respective hotels in the heart of Kathmandu city, after getting refreshed briefs with information regarding Everest Base Camp trekking with evening group welcome dinner.

Day 02: In Kathmandu with sightseeing tour at places of interest.

A free day in Kathmandu to relieve you from jetlag on long flights, our morning sightseeing tour (optional) starts after breakfast in the hotel, where you will be engrossed with tour around world heritage sites around Kathmandu visiting Old Durbar (palace) Square, and ancient stupa of Swayambhunath, after the tour back to hotel preparation for Everest Base Camp Trekking next early morning.

Day 03: Fly to Lukla 2,830 m & trek to Phakding 2,640 m - 04 hrs.
Mornings, flight to Lukla with views of mountain range including Mt. Everest, after 30 mins of great flight reaching at Lukla with its unique airstrip a gateway Sherpa town to Everest base camp and other adventure destination.

From Lukla walk to Phakding village leading past Sherpa farm villages, a nice and pleasant walk with few short ups overlooking beautiful views along the walk to Phakding village located by Dudh Koshi, a glacial River.

Day 04: Trek to Namche Bazaar 3,440 m ,7-8 hrs.

After breakfast, commence our trek to Namche Bazaar (3440 m.). The trail follows along the right bank of Dudh Koshi. Thamserku peaks stands majestically skyward on the opposite bank.

Then reach at Bengar, as trail climbs from the riverbed on the left bank into the mountain, through a forest to Chumoa. Continue along the trail with many ups and downs; cross a stream, and pass by the tiny village Monjo. We then come to Sagarmatha National Park Service where a park entrance fee is to be deposited. We follow a short walk along the riverbed of this valley where the major river meets each other. Crossing over a high Hillary bridge, trek begins with steep ascent to Namche Bazar.

On the way, facing excellent views of Everest (8848m) and Lhotse (8516m) surrounded on three sides by mountain ranges, Namche Bazaar (3440m) a central hub of the area for food, trekking gears and other necessary goods with overnight at Namche.

Day 05: Acclimatization and excursion at Namche

Namche Bazaar at 3,440m high, spending another day allowing our bodies to become acclimatized to the lofty altitude. Where walking high and sleeping low is the best way to get acclimatize, best acclimatization hike for the day we recommend is to Everest view hotel. It is perfect place for proper speed acclimatization before heading higher area, morning hike to Everest View Hotel which is about 3 hrs uphill walk, a great spot for magnificent view of Mt Everest, Lhotse, Amadablam and adjoining peaks of the Khumbu Himalayan panorama.

On Saturdays, colorful Bazaar held once a week for trading and an intimate look at the locals’ marketplace. It is part of the larger Namche Bazaar, a shopping hub filled with all manner of trekking and mountaineering clothing and equipment.

Day 06: Trek to Thyangboche 3,867 m - 07 hrs.

From Namche on gradual scenic path with downhill to Imjatse river at Phunge-Tenga for lunch, and then uphill through rhododendron, pines, firs tree forest with views of snowcapped peaks.On reaching Thyangboche visit famous Buddhist monastery with magnificent panorama of Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Kangtenga, Thamasarku, Kwande and majestic Amadablam. Afternoon with time for tour of the monastery, which was burnt by accidental fire in 1991 at present back into normal form, where you witness young monks and elderly priest and Lama on evening prayer.

Day 07: Trek to Dingboche 4,400 m - 06 hrs.

We descend through the forest to Debuche and a little further on we cross the rushing Imja Khola, whose valley we now follow. Climbing steadily the trail enters Pangboche, at 3,900m, the highest permanent settlement in this valley. Ascending the valley, we have lunch at Shomore, after which we leave the trees behind and cross a wooden bridge at the confluence of the Khumbu and Imja Kholas. A short steep climb brings us to Dingboche, at 4,400m, a summer settlement where great peaks surround us. 

Day 08: Rest day at Dingboche for acclimatization and excursion.

This second scheduled for rest day assists to your fitness with oxygen intake before higher elevations, an enjoyable 3-4hr climb to Nangkartshang, North of Dingboche affords views of Makalu (8,463m) the fifth highest mountain with awesome views of Amadablam and the valley floor.

Day 09: Trek to Lobuche 4,930 m - 06 hrs.

From Dingboche walk lead to a ridge marked with prayer flags and Stupas, then walking on nice gradual uphill facing marvelous scenery to reach at a small place in Thugla where Khumbu glaciers melts into a torrential river.

A perfect place for rest and lunch stop, where afternoon walks leads to a steep climb at Thugla hill a place with with many memorials of unfortunate climbers around peaks of Khumbu and Everest Walk continues for another few hours on nice gradual up to Lobuche for overnight stop, a place with several nice lodges with views of Nuptse and Lobuche peaks.

Day 10: Trek to Everest Base Camp 5364 m and return to Gorakshep 5,180 m - 08 hrs.

Today a great walk towards our main highlight and final destinations to reach Everest Base Camp, as morning walk leads on open wide valley with slow climb to reach above Khumbu glaciers. Our walk past moraine dunes reaching at Gorakshep, a place with few lodges on the junction of Everest base camp and Kala Patthar route.

Gorakshep used to be a base camp of Everest in the past 1950’s to late 1970’s before the route was made further 4-6 k.m to reach at present base camp. From Gorakshep few hours walk over moraine and glacier to reach our ultimate destination at base camp with sweeping views of giant peaks of Nuptse-Lo la, Nuptse with notorious huge Khumbu Ice Falls and glaciers. In high mountaineering season this place will be active with climbers and crews with many camps set on top of moraine and glaciers.

After a grand time then head back to Gorakshep for highest overnight stop of the adventure with fantastic memories of the day walks to Everest base camp.

Day 11: Hike to Kalapathar 5,550 m trek to Pheriche 4,240m - 08 hrs.

Early morning hike on top Kalapathar at 5,545 meters, highest point of this adventure with marvelous views of mountains including Mt. Everest at mere distance, after a great scenic moment descend to Gorakshep for breakfast and retrace our journey to Labuche then downhill to Thukla and continue around windy valley with nice scenic walk to reach at Pheriche for overnight stop.

Day 12: Trek to Namche - 08 hrs.

Return journey is much easier losing heights every hours.Today we lose approximately 760 m in elevation . After short climb to Pheriche pass,walk downhill with few tiny short ups to  reach Pangboche and then descend to Imja River after crossing suspension bridge trek through cool forested area to Debuche and then half an hour uphill to Tengboche. We descend  through pine and Rhododendron forest t0 Phungki Thanga where we can spot mountains goats, pheasants and other wild animals and birds common to the area. After crossing bridge over Imja khola second time, the path eventually goes up to Sanasa (Khumbu Junction) from where we can enjoy views of Ama Dablam, Thamserku and Nuptse mountains then we walk on smooth trails made by Pasang Sherpa all way to Namche Bazaar. Overnight at  Namche Bazaar.

Day 13: Trek to Lukla - 07 hrs.

After breakfast, we trek toward the Hillary Suspension Bridge and then pass through several local villages. Our arrival in Lukla brings an evening in our last Tea House and, traditionally, a party with your trekking crew: you made it! Thanks to great teamwork and perseverance, you’ve accomplished a physical feat of which others only dream. This is your last night on the mountain, which can be bittersweet.

Day 14: Fly back to Kathmandu and transfer to respective hotels.

From Lukla taking an early morning flight back to Kathmandu with views of mountains, at Kathmandu domestic airport our staff transfers you back to respective hotels with rest of the day free at leisure.

Day 15: International departure homeward bound.

Your last day in amazing Nepal in the land of Himalayan wonders, after wonderful experience and fond memories of Everest Base Camp trekking, our staff transfer you to airport as per your time for international flight for your final departure towards homeward bound.

The following are what we advise you obtain in the way of equipment and gear before trekking in Nepal, and are meant to keep you mobile and comfortable in a range of expected weather conditions. Trekking gear can be rented or purchased in Kathmandu at cheaper prices, remember Nepal is the home of Mount Everest, there is plenty of choice and our staff can assist you with the necessary arrangements. Except for your day pack, all luggage will be carried by porters. There is an allowance of 33lbs/15kg per person. Additional personal items not needed for the trekking portion of the trip can be checked in the hotel’s storage room for no extra cost.
