This trip was my first time to Nepal, trekking and exploring a small section of its beautiful landscape, the Annapurna circuit from Besisahar to Pokhara.
Hi, I’m Ken (62yrs), the overall experience was beyond my imagination, astonishing views of magnificent mountains with snow-capped peaks and farmed terraces. It’s difficult finding the appropriate adjectives to truly explain the grandeur of the views. Even my photos don’t show the depth and beauty of this Nepalese landscape.
It wasn’t until we started the drive from Kathmandu, via the local highway that I noticed, what I first thought was clouds in the sky but were snow covered mountains. I was awestruck by their size, reaching higher than the clouds. I could feel a small twinge of excitement come over me, “This is going to be one hell of trek”.
Dil’s professionalism, knowledge and thoughtfulness made every day great for our group. Every detail of our trek was considered and looked after. He would check our rooms before we entered them which made for a no hassle relaxing evening after a long day trekking. And even checking the bottles of water we purchased, he would make sure they hadn’t been tampered with.
On one day, I asked Dil how he could know what pace to walk at. Easy, he said, I listen to your breathing, your steps and of course what you were saying. I laughed, thinking I would try to trick him. The laugh was on me, he would watch all the team.
I would consider this as my best guided tour/trek ever for exploring, trekking, photographing and relaxing.
